I Hired a Digital Marketing Agency (and Loved It)

Digital Marketing Agency

We love it when we get to enjoy your amazing stories about your discovery of us here at Fashionably Frank Marketing. Today's story comes from Abbi of The Not So Calm & Collected - she is a fabulous, tiny home living, farm loving, minimalism advocate who inspires us on the daily! We are honored to have her words here on the blog and we hope they speak to you.

Hello everyone! Get comfy because I’m about to hit you with some POWERFUL words.

It all started about 8 months ago. I was reading one of my favorite blogging magazines, “Belong” and while opening the first page I saw Fashionably Frank Marketing. I instantly picked up my phone and looked into FFM’s website. After five minutes, I already felt like I had known Kathryn for years just by reading the “About” page.

I didn’t know the slightest thing about digital marketing, nor had I ever heard of anyone hiring someone to take care of their business’ social media! In my head, social media was a no brainer—post a nice picture and a cute caption and you’re good to go!

Oh how wrong I was.

I reached out to Kathryn after a few days of gazing at her website and asked a few questions. We got on a Skype call and I immediately realized that there was SO much more behind the scenes involved in managing social media than I ever knew!

Social media becomes the face of your business and I quickly understood that if I wanted to put my best foot forward, I needed someone to hold my hand and help me with all of the details that I didn’t even know existed!

We are no longer in the day and age where Facebook and Instagram are strictly for posting our pretty faces. They have become platforms for businesses (big and small) to reach like-minded people. Thinking I could do it on my own was a little naive, but I had some sense in me to realize that there MIGHT be an easier and more productive way to build my audience.

There were so many questions running through my head when I first decided to jump in—“What does Pinterest have to do with my blog?," “You can schedule out Facebook and Instagram posts?," or: “I need a color palette for my website?” These questions were all quickly answered and I now know the importance of everything I had previously questioned.

I had a lot of criticism coming at me when people heard that I was investing in digital marketing. Their criticism made me even second guess myself for a moment, but after thinking long and hard I decided that if I wanted other people to invest in my business, too, I had to be the one to start the chain reaction. I’m sitting here right now telling you that investing in digital marketing for my blog was literally the best decision I could’ve made.

Kathryn knocked my socks off with the amount of knowledge she had in the digital marketing world. This process has even made me want to pursue digital marketing as a profession someday! If you have a smidgen of interest in doing something like this for your business, I urge you to learn more and ask all of the questions that are coming to your mind! It will be an amazing investment and a pretty insightful experience.
